AHF Europe runs programmes and supports NGOs, CBOs, hospitals, HIV-clinics, advocacy groups, etc. accross Europe, in reaching the following goals:
- treatment access
- treatment of coinfections access
- access to prevention
- access to testing/diagnostics
- patient centered approach in state clinics
- testing in non medicalised settings
Greece: AHF supports local association of people living with HIV Positive Voice since 2013. They operate 2 HIV Checkpoints and provide free condoms to the MSM population in Greece
Portugal: AHF supportslocal association GAT since 2013. Gat operates a Checkpoint in Athens and leads a network of BGOs that provide access to diagnostics to 6.500 individuals (MSM, IDU,SW).
Estonia: AHF has 2 programmes in Estonia. Firstly, AHF supports the Estonian network op people living with HIV since 2009. They provide access to testing to more and 12.000 people in 2013 and psychosocial services to people living with HIV. Also, together with EHPV, AHF opened the first community based clinic in Europe in 2013.
Lithuania: AHF partners with Demetra, a local organisation for women living with HIV. They offer access to testing to 12.000 people, and work together with state clinics to improve services.
The Netherlands: AHF runs a low-threshold testing facility in the center of Amsterdam. The center is open beyond regular hours and offers access to
Russia: in Russia AHF supports state clinics and NGOs in the field of access advocacy. More than 8.000 patients are in care with AHF financing and 40.000 people will have access to testing in 2014
Ukraine: AHF supports 32 HIV clinics in Ukraine and close to 8,000 people are currently in care with AHF financing. Besides, 50.000 people will have access to testing and prevention.
AHF has its own condom brand, the LOVE condoms, and distributes million of those over the world every year.
